A Horse’s Life at High Hurdles:
At High Hurdles, we are committed to providing the highest level of care for every horse in our program. Our comprehensive care includes regular veterinary check-ups with both Henderson Equine and Springville Veterinary Services. Our primary veterinarian comes twice a year to perform physicals on each horse with her vet tech students. We also offer chiropractic and massage care as needed to ensure our horses’ comfort and mobility.
We schedule farrier care based on each horse’s specific needs and provide individualized feeding plans to meet their unique dietary requirements. Our horses enjoy a natural, enriching environment with nearly 24/7 turn out and access to high quality forage. Horses are part of a mixed mare and gelding herd. Our pasture has a large dry lot for the wet seasons and those with dietary restrictions, and spacious run in shed options for separating horses based on need. We believe in allowing our horses the choice of where they want to be each day, with forage, friends and freedom being top priority when they are not performing in lessons.
To further enhance their well-being, we ensure proper saddle fitting, to ensure a good fit and prevent discomfort. Additionally, our property is equipped with cameras throughout, allowing us to monitor and ensure the safety of all our horses at all times.
If you’re considering donating your horse to High Hurdles, you can be assured they will receive exceptional care in a secure environment, while providing incredible opportunities to the riders that we serve.
