Yes, we prioritize safety and require all on-horse participants to wear a helmet. We provide riding helmets for all riders who do not have their own approved helmets.

We require wearing long pants, close toed shoes and an ASTM-SEI certified equestrian riding helemt. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather and remember it gets cold up on our hill! Please avoid loose-fitting attire and dangling jewlery.

We offer therapeutic riding lessons for children as young as 4 years old, and do not have an upper age restriction, so long as the participant is safely able to ride.

Yes! Helmets must be ASTM-SEI certified equestrian riding helmets in good condition, with the manufacture date within the last 5 years. All helmets provided by High Hurdles follow these safety standards and are available for use.

Please refer to our Rider Handbook for our full absence/cancellation policy. Unfortunately, due to constrictions in time and staffing, we are unable to make up lessons in most instances if a rider cancels. If we have to cancel, we will make up those lessons at an agreeable time.

High Hurdles Is Not Only For Riders

We also have off-horse horsemanship classes for those who may not have the desire to ride. Ask us how we can build a program to meet your needs, both on-horse and off-horse activities are included in the eight-week sessions.
